What is an incoterm and how does it affect the processing of my shipment?
Incoterms are several voluntary clauses designed to facilitate and regulate international trade. They are linked to contractual sales practices and define when the responsibility passes from the seller to the buyer and what costs are borne by which party (eg: insurance, freight, customs duties, etc.).
For what reason Transpare does not generate a real-time quote?
Transpare does not generate real-time quotes as it is not a freight forwarder. Rates are subject to many criteria and variable according to various parameters, for the moment we leave this care to our forwarders network, to send their best offers directly to the charger. Also, we think that each shipment project is special and deserves the most customised quote, thus we ensure through our system and that each freight forwarder takes time to make the best offer to the shipper.
What is the EORI number?
The EORI number helps to identify individual economic operators within the European Union. It is mandatory, with the VAT number, as part of an import or export of goods. If you do not have an EORI number, you must request it from customs as indicated in this article: Get my EORI number
What is the VAT number?
The VAT number is a unique identifier of a company. Each company wishing to import or export goods between Member States within the European Union is required to have a VAT number (if applicable).
When to place my quotation request?
The earliest would be best ! Despite the speed of our forwarding partners, once you have made your shipment project online, we must give them time to set up operations to best meet your needs. In addition, you must also plan the preparation time of the goods before shipping.
What are the payment terms?
Payment must be done upon receipt of the invoice.
Who sets the bill?
Transpare is also an intermediary for invoicing and this part is managed by the platform. Transpare therefore bills the shipper and makes the payment to the freight forwarder while collecting the trader's commission.
The offers that I can receive on my listing request, are those of the carriers from my country only?
Transpare is a platform that connects you with freight-forwarders from everywhere in the world. We currently work with carriers which are Moroccan, French, Turkish, Asian, African etc. This means that an importer / exporter can benefit from a more complete range of offers while having the confidence that these providers, perhaps no matter where they are from, are able to deliver a good quality service.
I do not think you could be at the same price level as a direct carrier?
Despite the fact that Transpare is an intermediary, it’s business model makes Transpare a provider of business to its network of freight-forwarders. Freight forwarders no longer have to include the compensation of a salesperson in the service, which allows Transpare and the freight forwarders through Transpare to be more competitive.
